for those of you who do not know or do not realise what has been going down with gamesurge.net's server problems read this article http://www.grc.com/dos/grcdos.htm it explains the discovery of DDoS attacks (currently being preformed on Gamesurges Networks) made by IRC Zombie Bots. very intersting stuff a few of you might learn some things abot how to prevent your comuter from inadvertently being the host of such maliscious bots.

but seriously, it is a shame that there is nothing they can really do to prosecute these punks.  This doesn't cause enough monetary damage.  If it did, they could use the "patriot act".  bah. politics.

well mabie not emediate monitairy losses but what about time, pain, aggrivation, ect.. last i heard you can still sew somebody in court for hundreds of thousands of dollars. for something silly like emotional trauma. wtf, the FBI needs to get there shit strait. that article alone sends a message to millions of hackers, saying hey why the fuck not? look you cant get busted so fucking go for it. lame...

but they did forget the part that if you do know what you are doing, then it is very difficult to trace you.  So unless you cause tons of monetary damage to multiple large multinational businesses, it would be difficult for our FBI to get collaboration from a country like, let's say, Denmark.  Does suck though.  The only thing you can do is make sure that you and your friends and family don't contribute by allowing yourselves to be a client for one of these DOS worms and the like.
