My God all of you suck, collectively. Paladin you nearly redeemed yourself with the In Flames reference, but I said NEARLY.
Bunch of emo faggots I swear! Or alternately just homos who enjoy nu-metal queerness.
Megadeth, Metallica, In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, Anthrax, Dream Theater, Nevermore... those are all good bands. Hip Hop? Fucking HIP HOP? You better hip-hop your faggoty ass out of here cause judging from the OTHER equally gay responses I saw, chances are good your gonna have so much cock crammed up there you won't walk for a week!

Wow, you're tolerant.  That's a good sign of intelligence.  lol

Hey, you sound just like Trent.  I think you're a closet emo...

Go ahead and flame the band, I happen to think that they are intense.

Also, here is a defiinition of 'emo' --> http://www.fourfa.com/history.htm

I happen to like punk, and minor threat pwns you all.  Don't knock the punk.

And don't tell me that there is no emotional aspect of metal cause there most definitely is.

And yes, if you listen to Morris-ssisy you are gay, that I'll agree to. hahahaha

And judging from you seriously homo-phobic response you should read this link ---> http://psychcentral.com/mwiki/index.php/Homosexuality_and_psychology#Psychology_of_homophobia

Read the second bullet....

(Sorry man, I couldn't resist the return fire  :flamed:)   :-D

Let me repost that, cuz i couldnt modify it

I refuse to believe that emo started in DC, it all origintes in Jersey. All the best bands are from Jersey.
Now this chick listens to metal or whatevr lord duren likes

http://poststuff4.entensity.net/052005/image.php?pic=alisondidsomethingweird2.jpg   BEWARE

now this is a typical emo chick http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=6577540&Mytoken=20050520090602 , emo people usually have a myspace account, or at least a live journal.

Now which one looks better?

I shall ridicule your points 1 by 1 thus making my e-penis grow larger!

Wow, you're tolerant.  That's a good sign of intelligence.
Who said tolerence had anything to do with intelligence? My dazzling intellect is enough to keep the best of man on their toes, and I'm an intolerent son of a bitch. Just read the rest of my answers and I'm sure you'll agree!

Hey, you sound just like Trent.  I think you're a closet emo...
Trent has been the figurehead and mastermind behind the most commercially successful industrial group in the history of music. So while I will agree that being like Trent is not entirely a bad thing, I'd rather be the figurehead and mastermind behind the most commerically successful heavy metal group. Either way, Emo would not be a good way to describe things.

Go ahead and flame the band, I happen to think that they are intense.
Most people think their music of choice is intense. I just don't happen to like anything where half of the music or more is performed on a synthesizer, created electronically, so on and so forth. No doubt if you are feeling obstreperous you will respond with something both sarcastic and brilliant about the brain converting everything into electrical pulses; I realize that, but it still sounds different. And as far as I'm concerned, it still sucks.

Also, here is a defiinition of 'emo' --> http://www.fourfa.com/history.htm
That is not a definition. Thats a HISTORY. A history which I am not going to read because, quite frankly, I am terrified of knowing more and expanding upon my narrow viewpoint.

Emo: A style of music made popular by the musically inept, characterized by the abuse of Power Chords (3 note chords comprised of thirds),
whiny vocals, lyrics that expound upon the misery of the human lifestyle, and an utter lack of talent. Theres a definition for ya.

I happen to like punk, and minor threat pwns you all.  Don't knock the punk.
Good for you. I'm very glad that you can make up your own mind about the music you like, and I mean that. However minor threat does not 'pwn' me in any way shape or form. My god, I was a better guitarist in my second year then anything they have yet recorded. I guarentee that I know more about making a decent song then they have ever dreamed of. The same goes for any other punk band out there. I will knock the punk if I damn well feel like it.

And don't tell me that there is no emotional aspect of metal cause there most definitely is.
There you go again, proving you don't know what Emo truly is. See I will most definitely agree that there is an emotional aspect of metal. Its very strong. But when something bad happens to an emo kid, he goes home and whines about it in a song. The same song, done metal, involves taking the threat by the head and performing a perfect Stephen Segal move on it. Metal is characterized by aggression, emo by cowardice. Metal has intelligent thought provoking lyrics on everything from politics to religion to science to love (or specifically, lost love).
Emo has nothing.

And yes, if you listen to Morris-ssisy you are gay, that I'll agree to. hahahaha
No argument from me.

And judging from you seriously homo-phobic response you should read this link ---> http://psychcentral.com/mwiki/index.php/Homosexuality_and_psychology#Psychology_of_homophobia
You know, if it wasn't for the fact that I am completely unaroused by naked men, and if I wasn't attracted to women massively, and if I didn't have a rather attractive girlfriend right now, I might almost think I was gay. But as it stands, all that I feel is a great deal of amusement at the fact that the better part of the gay population will die before the age of 50.

Care to respond?

Emotion by cowardice? At least im not some sort of man filled with rage. Besides when Metal describes religion, they just say that there is no god and there view on politics is anarchy is the best method. Emo typically refers to relation ships or losing a loved one, and you know what i could give less of a shit about that stuff. I just listen because i like the beat and stuff like that. I dont want to be thinking while im listening to music, i dont want to have to try to hear every single lyric, its just there to relax me. I dont stick exclusevly to emo, i listen to techno trance, rap on occasion, hip hop, punk, and even metal.
Title: Re: NIN
Post by: LordDuren on May 20, 2005, 11:06:54 AM
Valid points XTC. Now I grant you there are a large number of metal bands where your comments on religion would be correct. To allow that to stigmatize the entire group would be unfair. For those of us into Metal, you have to understand its an outlet for us... the anger in the music allows the release of anger that sometimes you cannot otherwise expend. At least thats how it works for me. Frustrations seem to melt away with the presence of aggressive music, whether its my own (writing it) or that of someone else who expresses with eloquence a feeling I wish I could. I honestly wouldn't have anything against emo if it didn't seem so 'rinse, wash, repeat' to me... partly because I do play guitar, and partly because I do write lyrics. It bores me.

Also please note to any offended observers, although I do dislike emo music and a lot of other types for that matter, what I have posted so far is meant to be in good fun, and if I have something you can take offense at, please don't since its not intended. I just like to argue. :)

Now Lord, that's good spam!

lol.  I just wanted to see what kind of response I'd get from such an angry guy.  lol.  I haven't listened to Minor Threat since I was in HS, and yes of course they have little musical talent.  The movenment crap is their talent.  Punk is cool (especially when you were in HS), but then again, my fav. is EDM (electronica) and like Cobra tells me, that makes me like a 14 year old asian girl.  I like metal, but not all that into it and I don't own too much.  I also listen to the dead.  I also listen to STP and the like.

I was just pointing out that calling everyone that isn't like you a homosexual is intollerent.  That is not an intellegent choice, and you know it (or maybe you don't).  Anyway, suppose xTc is gay, and his stories of scamming all these women are just fronts - you could have really hurt his emo feelings.

Isn't a response like that a lot of emotional drama?

(lol...i'm in the same boat as you with the arguing.  ahem...should I say trolling.  Nothing you say can really offend me, since I eat fresh third trimester aborted fetuses from time to time.  When you do that, little else seems all that offensive.  Now, this thread definitely belongs in an air thight steel can.)

haha I'm not actually angry believe it or not. Perhaps tis my sarcastic and bitter nature that comes across here better then my usual dashing charm and wit ;) As for being intolerant I do have to disagree with you on that, because ultimately intelligence is not a factor in determining whether or not one tolerates and accepts certain people. Granted that may be the WISE choice but wisdom is not exactly the same thing.
Of course simply by being able to debate such things I would hope I can demonstrate a reasonably intelligent nature ;) Now on the other hand if I actually thought all of you were homosexuals based upon your choices in music, I might be demonstrating both a lack of wisdom and perhaps intelligence as well, but thats another matter.
