Best game I've played since Batman.
If you have a 360 or PS3, get it.

I haven't even heard of it...what's it about and what makes it the best game since Batman?

It's all about Metal man :D Basically it's about a roadie that gets transported to another world via some artifact which had some powers he wasn't aware of. The roadie voiced by Jack Black is basically a hero of legend  destined to save humans from it's demonic overlords. The world is basically designed and given tribute to all the Heavy Metal environments and art that's been out there. It has a pretty good soundtrack if you are into some of the older metal and hard rock. Also it has some pretty big names as voice actors besides Black, you have Ozze, Leta Ford (iirc) and a few others I can't recall. It's a hack and slash style adventure game, there is some magic in the game that you can use with the help of an electric guitar (your other axe :D). Also there are armies you get to control (a bit like Overlord). I have only rented it and not played too much as of yet but it seems fairly large.

In a word? Epic.
The world itself is brilliiant...it's like a living Heavy Metal cover. It has a dark humour to it that's pretty tongue in cheek, plus the controls themselves are easy and intuitive. The side missions can get repetative after a while, but I played it for a good 8 hours straight yesterday and was entertained the entire time, sometimes just driving around randomly and finding stuff while listening to some badass metal on the car stereo.
I haven't tried out the multiplayer yet, so I couldn't tell you about that.
Tim Schaefer never fails to make awesome games in my opinion.

I've been following it for a while and it looks to be quite the game. Probably gonna but it when it hits the PS3 greatest hits (pun intended).

I heard that other than the multiplayer being repetitive it was a great game...
