Has anyone used this?  Is it any good for word & excel stuff?

It's a nice set of software, but if you have access to Microsoft Office, you should use that. MSOffice is much more powerful.

I've been using Open Office for several years now. I love it. You can open and save files to be compatible
 with excel if you like as well.

Word doc, spreadsheets, templates, graphs.. it's all good.
It's free so try it out and judge it for yourself.

Open Office is a great suite of programs.  Everything is compatible with Microsoft Office yet it is free.  I think that it is just as efficient if not more that MS Office because it has a more friendly interface that MS Office.  You can also submit your own feedback about it and most of the time if it is decent they will include it in the next release.  I have been using the Open Office Suite for about 6 years now.

We have office 2007 on our FTP for download, just use that...IMO

And where might the ftp info be located? lol

I'm still using Office 2003 I think. I was too lazy to go out and find a working torrent myself, but since you mentioned you have it, I may as well take advantage of it.
