I felt like the entire movie was unscripted and pretty much a bunch of guys screwing around (which it may have been). But I saw the uncut version so maybe that's one reason I didn't like it was much. I don't know if they had the bit where Will Ferrel eats cat shit in the regular cut but god I hope not. :puke:

On average I watch about 3 movies a week. There's not much to do where I live other than the movies and party. So on weekends I usually hit the movies with my friends and party afterwards. Also a friend of mine owns a lot of dvds so I get a lot to watch from him as well.

KISS Kissology volume 2
Good stuff if youre a KISS fan! I actually found myself in tears at the end. Those of us who know a bit about the band remember that Eric Carr replaced original drummer Peter Criss when Criss was fired. Carr was an excellent drummer and loved the fans. Around 1991 Carr was treated for cancer of the heart which involved open heart surgery. Just days afterwards he insisted on apearing in the KISS video for "God gave rock and roll to you II" still in recovery from the surgery, stitches and all. This was his last video and performance with the band, he died shortly afterwards.
At the end of the three disc set is a memorial for Carr with the MTV clip announcing his death and the KISS "God gave rock and roll to you II" video following. At the end of the video the credits roll and one is led to believe thats the end. Screen goes blank and then you see a self-made home video Carr shot from his hospital bed after the surgery explaining what had happened and that he would return soon. In true rock and roll style, he ends the video by pulling down his hospital bottoms and mooning the camera.

The first time I was border line black out because of a company party, so I missed some important things and was only able to remember certain parts, so I thought it was dumb. However, when I went with my gf to see it and was able to comprehend it, it was a pretty good movie.
Ironman was effin awesome, can't wait for the dollar theater to pick it up and then for the dvd.
Glad to hear wall e was good, I have wanted to see it since Cars came out and they were talking about making it, have to wait til the woman gets back from out west so she can see it with me, (insert whipped jokes here if you must)

To be honest I was quite disappointed with the 300 - there was an utter lack of strategy/tactics and common sense employed in the battles and the bad guys were just plain dumb...i grant you that movie was shot very well and had great cinematic style but content (even for action flicks) was rather thin...

300 was a cool movie, cause it was filmed cool, it was no where near one of the best movies, in my opinion.
My fave movie is my cousin vinny. Such a great movie. But other favs are Gladiator, Apocalypse now, Top gun, The Producers, Bronx Tale and Bad Boys 2. not all of them are great movies, but I love them all.
How they were actually filmed, I think Gladiator, Apocalypse now, and top gun are some of the best filmed movies of all time.

Believe it or not, Dark Knight is still sold (all week except 12:30AM show) on IMAX in NYC...will give it another couple of days before I break down and see it in a regular movie theater.
Separately, just saw John Adams last weekend - it is awesome; another tour de force from HBO :notworthy: To watch the actors portraying (quite convincingly) Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, Franklin, etc. debate on fundamental ideas that shaped this nation was such a treat. Being a dork, it has motivated me to buy a textbook to learn more about the immediate aftermath of the war of Independence and politics around establishing the constitution and the most important government institutions.

Batman Begins:
Bruce figures out what he HAS to do. what he HAS to be. and what he HAS to give up (to Tom Cruise...)
Dark Knight:
Bruce wants out, he thinks he can get there by replacing himself with someone everyone thinks is a HERO. He is the anti-hero hero. This batman is much better than the 1950's WHAP! BAM!! KAPOW!!!! batman by 20,000 leagues. I loved what he did with his voice. I loved how well he knows his people, and how to keep them around (the computer spy program using cell phones self destruction.) I loved how well they knew him. I fucking LOVED HIS VOICE CHANGE. that was probably the best effect. sorry, but subtlety like that going throughout the movie really makes a difference.
And Heath? He played a JOKER to the T. The joker in a deck of cards can be anything you WANT it to be, need it to be, and it trumps ALL. and he did. in every way shape and form. he didn't have a purpose. no goal. he explained it to people what, 4 times? Like in Hearts when you throw the BITCH down, he LIVES for that moment. that spectacular reaction to what he's just done. He plays off it. He plays people off each other. and his intelligence and grasp of the language and the vocabulary he used and the diction. phenomenally written part. I loved the leaking makeup. I loved the licking of the lip/flicking of the tongue. I LOVED the house of cards effect he used to rob that bank in the opening scene... closing it up in one clean neat pile of bodies.
and it closes with Batman accepting his fate as the hunted, not the hero, but the vigilante, the necessary evil. The NECESSARY EVIL....
THAT is a proud station in life. THOSE RANKS are my heroes. Tools? maybe, but the end goal, the cause they stand behind, the people they protect..... that is the motherfucking shit right there.

i also just saw the movie the hangover which was very funny i would give it 2 thumbs up and the pictures at the end of the movie at their trip i would say is the funnest part so i would make sure to stay and see those.

If you like Tarantino movies you'll love it. If you love watching Nazi's die and you don't mind a revisionist history of WWII, you'll love it. If you don't like long dialog scenes (which really means you don't like Tarantino movies) you'll hate it. There's a lot of dialog.
I loved it, I saw it twice in the theater. But I'm a huge Tarantino fan, so the man could make a movie about farting and I'd say it was golden.
But all of the characters are fantastic, there's some great violence, and a finale that only the most shrewd historian would have a problem with.

The Road? REALLY? I thought it was a piece of shit. The time I was watching it I was like "where is this movie going" and at the end I was like "Huh? That's it?" I think it was the first movie ever without a plot line.

The Road is one of my all time favorite books. I've had the movie sitting here for weeks but I've been afraid to watch it. The book is the most beautiful piece of fiction geared towards men that I've ever read. But, to what GFH said, there's not much of a plot, it's about the journey. What makes the book great is the narration, and since the movie doesn't have that, I somehow doubt that it's capable of telling the same story.
One of these days I'll pop it in though.

This movie was everything Expendables should have been. Serious guy, Killing crap loads of people in just about as many ways
as you can think of, blood everywhere. The jokes were hilarious. The women..... HOT. Not for the feint of heart.
